The Purpose Conference is more than just an event. It is an encounter with God. This movement was born out of our desire to win people for God. We no longer want to see people experience bitterness, lose hope, and even end their lives. Purpose Conference aims to show people that there is hope and that there is a Helper who can change their situation and give them a reason to go on and find their purpose.
THE STORY BEHIND THE PURPOSE CONFERENCE
Purpose conference is an annual conference held by International Bethel Church of God in Hannover. This year will be the 5th conference since 2013. The conference was initially called the European Christian Youth Conference (ECYC). In 2014 and 2015, we held our second and third conferences and then we had a pause for 3 years. Then again in 2018, we had the opportunity to hold our 4th conference.
This year, God gave us the passion not only to reach out to the young generations but to all generations. God gave us a vision to go and reach a wider and bigger demographics for His glory. For this reason, we have decided to change the title of the conference from ECYC to Purpose.
Purpose was born through the prayer and discussion by the leading of the Holy Spirit, and was confirmed and agreed upon by the pastors of IBCG Hannover.
Purpose means that God has created every human for a purpose. Jesus was crucified 2000 years ago not only for us to live normal lives but under His Grace, to live a life of Purpose, a life of Victory and a life of meaning. We are all special to Him who greatly loves us without condition. If we can only begin to understand God's Grace and the gravity of what Jesus did for you and me on the cross, His perfect plan of salvation that He freely gives to us when we believe in Him, then can we know our purpose. Living a purpose driven life means living a life like Jesus.
This year, our theme is called “Christ in you”.

PASTOR IBCG HANNOVER
Ivan Sihombing is Indonesian and the Pastor of International Bethel Church of God Hannover. Pastor Sihombing serves in International Bethel Church of God Hannover as a Pastor and a church leader on a voluntary basis. He also works as a neurosurgeon consultant in a hospital in Germany near Hannover.
Pastor Ivan Sihombing believes in bringing out the best in people and is committed to help them discover their very best of them through the unveiling of the beauty, the grace and the love of Jesus the Christ. His desire is to help this generation of believers understand the new covenant of grace and realize how greatly blessed, highly favored and deeply loved they are by their heavenly Father through Jesus Christ.

Delighted by the beauty, power and value of the local church, Ben is fully convinced that there is nothing more important than proclaiming the gospel of the accomplished work of Jesus (which completely changed his life, marriage, family and community since he first heard Pastor Joseph Prince preach at the Hillsong Conference 2007). He is sure that the growing awareness of the wonderful grace of God not only transforms the appearance of the church into a smiling, friendly, welcoming and attractive face, but we will also see more lives than ever saved, healed, recovered and restored inside outwards completely and sustainably changed (transformed). KARL SCHNEIDER
SENIOR PASTOR CHURCH OF GOD MAGDEBURG
Pastor Karl Schneider is a man of God who is pastoring a church in Magdeburg. His name is familiar to those of us who are members of IBCG Hannover. He has visited our church several times with his family and his church team. Ps. Karl Schneider has also been our guest speaker several times at our previous conferences before. Last time, he preached at the ECYC 2018. He is also a good friend of Pastor Ivan Sihombing.
His desire is that in everything he does, people will come to know Jesus through him and his testimony and that people will also have that same desire to have a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Ps. Karl Schneider has a vision for his church and that is that by believing, people are empowered to discover their own vision in life through having a relationship with Jesus Christ.
